MailStore V22.2: Support for Windows 11, Windows Server 2022 and TLS 1.3

The end of the quarter is fast approaching and a new MailStore version, Version 22.2, is available right now. The new version supports the Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft Windows Server 2022 operating systems. Our software now also supports TLS 1.3. Besides these new features, we’ve made several other tweaks to enhance the software. It goes without saying that Version 22.2 of MailStore Server and the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE) comes with an updated GDPR certification.

Support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022

MailStore’s email archiving solutions are well-known for always supporting the latest operating systems. Following this tradition, the new versions of MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE now support Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022, which means that your MailStore installation can use the latest Microsoft operating systems. This gives you maximum flexibility and autonomy when it comes to choosing an appropriate operating system platform for your MailStore installation. What is more, support for the latest operating systems underscores our commitment to protect customers’ long-term investment in MailStore email archiving solutions. So, you can rest assured that your MailStore installation will provide years of reliable service – because that’s exactly what an archiving solution is meant to do: retain business-critical data over the long term.

Support for TLS 1.3

As ever, SECURITY is of paramount importance to us. For that reason, MailStore 22.2 supports the latest version of TLS encryption, namely TLS 1.3, where available. Currently, TLS 1.3 is supported only by Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11. Using the latest encryption standard increases security whenever you use your MailStore software remotely – especially in public networks at locations such as airports. Since all incoming connections to MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE are encrypted, login data, for example, are optimally protected from unauthorized access by third parties.

In addition to TLS 1.3, we of course continue to support all other TLS versions supported by Microsoft.

Other Enhancements

Besides the new features listed above, the new Version 22.2 offers other improvements that will enhance the stability, security and performance of our software in the long term. These changes are also the basis for improvements that will be made in the future. For example, we’ve upgraded the underlying .NET Framework system, several third-party components, the internal database engine, and the client components for all databases used. Updated GDPR Certification

It goes without saying that Version 22.2 of our business solutions, MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE, has once again been certified by independent data protection experts.

The certification takes into account all relevant aspects of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and shows that, when used appropriately, both MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE meet all the requirements governing the processing of personal data set out in the GDPR.

New Features for MailStore Home

Our free email archiving software for home users, MailStore Home, also benefits from the new version. So, MailStore Home now also supports the new Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 operating systems, and home users will also benefit from support for TLS 1.3 (where available). Besides these new features, we’ve also made some tweaks to MailStore Home that will enhance the stability, security and performance of the software, including updates to the .NET Framework and the internal database engine.
