MailStore Version 25.1: Increased Security and Support for Microsoft Server 2025 and Microsoft Outlook 2024

We’d like to present a new version of our email archiving software today: Version 25.1 of MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE) and MailStore Home is now available.

New Features in MailStore Version 25.1

In MailStore version 25.1, we have removed outdated Microsoft C++ runtime libraries to eliminate potential security risks. However, this means that old MailStore databases (Firebird Version 2.5 and 3) must be updated before you can use MailStore Version 25.1.

MailStore version 25.1 also supports the new Microsoft Server 2025 and Microsoft Outlook 2024. Use the MailStore App for this. For older Outlook versions, you can still use our well-known MailStore Add-in.

Important Note

Before installing MailStore version 25.1, you must update your MailStore databases (both the master database and the internal archive stores for email data) to Firebird 4. If you do not update your databases to Firebird 4 and install MailStore Version 25.1, databases can no longer be loaded in MailStore Version 25.1. An update to Firebird 4 is only possible with MailStore Version 24.4, MailStore Version 24.3 or MailStore Version 24.2. Please also read our message on this topic.

Updated Certification: Meeting Data Privacy Requirements

As usual, the latest version of our software, Version 25.1 of MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE, has been certified by an independent data privacy expert.

The certification takes into account all relevant aspects of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and affirms that, when used appropriately, both MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE meet all the requirements governing the processing of personal data set out in the GDPR.

You can download the new version of MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition und MailStore Home free of charge from our website.

If your MailStore Server Update & Support Service has expired, please contact us to purchase an upgrade that will allow you to use the latest version of MailStore Server. Read here to find out about other good reasons for having an active Update & Support Service in place.
