MailStore Version 26.2 now available
MailStore with a new design, migration to Graph, and expanded archiving options
Viersen, 22.04.2026 +++ The German specialist for email archiving, MailStore by OpenText, is today launching the latest version, V26.2, of its MailStore email archiving solutions. The update for MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE), MailStore Gateway and MailStore Cloud brings important improvements for users:
MailStore in a New Look
MailStore is getting a modern visual refresh – bringing it in line with OpenText’s brand identity and creating a more cohesive, contemporary experience. As part of OpenText for several years, MailStore’s new design now makes this connection instantly recognizable.
New Features in MailStore (Server, SPE, Gateway) Version 26.2
New Conversion Tool for EWS to Microsoft Graph and IMAP
With Release 26.2, MailStore is introducing a new conversion tool for MailStore Server and the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE), designed specifically for Microsoft 365 users. It provides all the features customers need for a smooth migration from Exchange Web Services (EWS) to the Microsoft Graph API.
The release supports administrators with automatic detection of existing EWS profiles, clear guidance on necessary adjustments, and a guided migration via the new profile conversion tool. This significantly simplifies the transition, reduces potential sources of error, and minimizes manual effort.
Exports to Microsoft 365 Now Using IMAP protocol
MailStore customers know and appreciate the export feature, as it allows you to restore archives and folders to a mailbox on the mail server.
With this update, exports now use the IMAP protocol instead of EWS to ensure continued compatibility with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) and for preserving the folder structure of mailboxes. Existing profiles can be converted using the new conversion tool, while all new profiles will use IMAP by default.
Automatic Synchronization of Microsoft 365 Groups
In MailStore Server and the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE), Microsoft 365 groups can now be synchronized automatically. For each synchronized Microsoft 365 group, MailStore creates one new MailStore user and one archive where journaled emails will be dropped. Note: Each synchronized Microsoft 365 group requires one user license.
This feature significantly simplifies archiving and management and ensures that content from Microsoft 365 Groups is available in the archive in its entirety.
New Features in MailStore Cloud Version 26.2
Support for Outlook.com Free Email Accounts
You can now archive emails and synchronize folders from Outlook.com accounts, too. In addition to Microsoft 365 business and enterprise accounts, free Microsoft email services (i.e. domains “@outlook.com”, “@hotmail.com”, “@live.com”) are also supported. Customers can aggregate all their emails from various services in one MailStore archive.
Deleting Archive Mailboxes That Contain Emails
Archive mailboxes can now be deleted even if they still contain emails. Compliance users can choose to delete or preserve emails in such archive mailboxes. Previously, deletion was only possible for empty archive mailboxes. This change improves the manageability of your MailStore archive and provides more flexibility for admins and compliance users. Any deletion of emails is fully audited, supporting continued GoBD and GDPR compliance.
Updated Certification: Meeting Data Privacy Requirements
As usual, Version 26.2 of MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE) and MailStore Cloud were certified by an independent IT auditor and data privacy expert. The GDPR certificate relates to the processing of personal data, which complies with the requirements of the EU’s GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (DSG) in Switzerland, respectively.
