MailStore Version 24.2 now available

Multi-Factor Authentication for Synchronized Users and an Updated Database

Viersen, 10.04.2024 +++ The German specialist for email archiving, MailStore by OpenText, is today launching the latest version, Version 24.2, of its MailStore email archiving solutions. The update for MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE) and MailStore Home offers MailStore customers multi-factor authentication for synchronized users, while providing a number of minor bug fixes to make email archiving even more secure and convenient.

• More Security
  Up to now, it’s been possible to configure multi-factor authentication only for local users; now, this can be configured for synchronized users (without OpenID Connect) too. In addition, administrators can now allow or restrict logins to specific clients (Windows client, the Outlook add-in, a web browser, the IMAP protocol, a command line client, a management API) on a per-user basis.
• Archiving IRM-Protected Messages in Unencrypted Format
  In the past, emails could only be archived in encrypted form when using Microsoft 365 message encryption (IRM) and journaling. With the new version, these emails can be archived, displayed and searched for in plain text too.
• Database Update
  We’ve also updated the internal database engine. The master database will be updated automatically the moment administrators install Version 24.2 to ensure that all software features remain fully available.

As usual, Version 24.2 of MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE were certified by an independent IT auditor and data privacy expert. The GDPR certificate relates to the processing of personal data, which for both solutions complies with the requirements of the EU’s GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (DSG) in Switzerland, respectively.

Version 24.2 is available right now for MailStore Server, the MailStore SPE, MailStore Home and the add-on tool MailStore Gateway. With the launch of Version 24.2, support for the Internet Explorer has, however, been discontinued
