MailStore Version 25.4 now available

Improved Audit Function, New Export Method, Support for Microsoft Exchange Server SE, and Many Other Improvements

Viersen, 01.10.2025 +++ The German specialist for email archiving, MailStore by OpenText, is today launching the latest version, V25.4, of its MailStore email archiving solutions. The update for MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE), MailStore Gateway and MailStore Home brings important new features:

• Improved Auditing
  The MailStore audit log is important for security audits and helps compliance officers verify that the archiving system is configured correctly and used in line with laws and regulations, such as GoBD and GDPR. With MailStore V25.4, we have added an export and delete feature for the internal audit log. Regular exports and backups of audit logs maximize data protection and help auditors analyze the data. Once exported logs can optionally be removed to save disk space.
• New Export Method
  A new export profile enables the export of selected archives as signed and zipped EML files. This facilitates secure data migrations to other MailStore solutions including the original archive dates. Digital signatures protect the exported emails from manipulation. Watch out for other MailStore product announcements.
• New Message Search Criterion
  Administrators can now search for message IDs to identify and verify which archive contains a specific message.
• Support for Microsoft Exchange Server SE
  Microsoft Exchange Server SE is the newest edition of the popular Microsoft on-prem email server. MailStore 25.4 integrates seamlessly with the new Exchange Server Subscription Edition just like with any previous versions. MailStore can synchronize users and mailboxes and archives and restores email messages via built in APIs and with various archiving methods.
• Further Improvements
  There are several minor improvements MailStore admins will find handy, such as the automatic updates of auditor permissions, delayed removal of emails from journal mailboxes and multidrop mailboxes.
  Software security is a top priority at MailStore. For this reason, several third-party components have been updated to the latest versions and the standard for Windows authentication has been changed to Kerberos.

As usual, Version 25.4 of MailStore Server and the MailStore SPE were certified by an independent IT auditor and data privacy expert. The GDPR certificate relates to the processing of personal data, which for both solutions complies with the requirements of the EU’s GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (DSG) in Switzerland, respectively.
