MailStore Version 26.1 now available
Archiving with Microsoft Graph, simplified administration, and new features for MailStore Cloud
Viersen, 21.01.2026 +++ The German specialist for email archiving, MailStore by OpenText, is today launching the latest version, V26.1, of its MailStore email archiving solutions. The update for MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE), MailStore Home and MailStore Cloud brings important improvements for future-proof archiving, more efficient administration, and greater convenience for users:
- New Archiving Profiles With Microsoft Graph and Improvements to the Management API
One focus of MailStore Server and MailStore Service Provider Edition 26.1 is on the future viability of Microsoft 365 archiving: Microsoft has announced that Exchange Web Services (EWS) will no longer be supported for Exchange Online as of October 1, 2026. MailStore is therefore introducing new archiving profiles that use Microsoft Graph instead of EWS, thus ensuring long-term reliable archiving.
In addition, version 26.1 includes several improvements to the Management API. Certificates for connecting to Microsoft 365/Entra ID and for MailStore Cloud Export can now also be managed and updated remotely. This is particularly helpful for managed service providers who operate customer instances on behalf of their customers.
As part of further development, it was also announced that support for Microsoft SQL Server, PSQL, and MailStore Proxy will be removed by the end of the year. This will reduce potential security risks for MailStore while optimizing the system architecture. - Further Improvements for MailStore Server and MailStore SPE
Further improvements simplify operation and increase transparency: The status report now displays the number of archived emails per profile, providing a better overview of archiving activities. In addition, active sessions are automatically logged out when access passwords are changed – another security plus. - MailStore Cloud 26.1: Forwarding Archived Emails and New Options for Mailbox Archiving
MailStore Cloud also gets new features in version 26.1. Users can now forward emails that have already been archived directly from Web Access as attachments. A Microsoft 365 mailbox must be configured as the sender for this.
In addition, archiving from mailboxes can now be restricted to emails of a certain age. For example, emails that are older than 10 years can be specifically excluded from archiving. This is a convenient new feature with regard to compliance requirements. - Status Messages for MailStore Cloud
A new status report for MailStore Cloud is also available for greater transparency in cloud operations. Partners and customers can register at https://status.opentext.com/ and activate notifications to receive information about downtime, planned maintenance, and updates.
As usual, Version 26.1 of MailStore Server, the MailStore Service Provider Edition (SPE) and MailStore Cloud were certified by an independent IT auditor and data privacy expert. The GDPR certificate relates to the processing of personal data, which complies with the requirements of the EU’s GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (DSG) in Switzerland, respectively.
