MailStore Cloud is now available

The cloud-native email archiving solution for SMBs from MailStore

Viersen, 06.10.2025 +++ MailStore Software GmbH, a subsidiary of OpenText and a leading provider of email archiving solutions for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), announces the official launch of MailStore Cloud, a cloud-native email archiving solution.

The modern, scalable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution is specifically tailored to the requirements of SMBs that do not want to or cannot operate their own IT infrastructure for email archiving.

MailStore Cloud offers tamper-proof archiving of emails and helps you meet legal requirements for data protection and the retention of business-critical emails. MailStore Cloud also simplifies audits and eDiscovery scenarios and reduces the burden on IT support.

MailStore is thus expanding its proven product portfolio, which also includes the long-established on-premises solution MailStore Server and the Service Provider Edition, which is specifically designed for MSPs.

MailStore Cloud is initially available in the DACH region through long-standing distribution partner ELOVADE. Outside the DACH region, other channel partners of MailStore Software GmbH are available as sources of supply.

Cloud-native architecture – email archiving as a service

MailStore Cloud is based on a cloud-native microservices architecture that can be scaled flexibly. Thanks to MailStore’s well-known compliance and archiving features, the archiving solution is also GDPR and IDW PS 880 (GoBD) certified.

In addition to tamper-proof archiving and encryption of archived emails, the compliance and archiving features also include configurable retention policies and deletion functions. A legal hold function and granular access permissions are further important components.

The solution is provided by OpenText in a hyperscale data center in Germany. This means that companies do not need any hardware resources to use MailStore Cloud. OpenText is also responsible for maintaining the software. In addition, MailStore Cloud users benefit from automatic updates to new product versions as soon as they become available.

The software is available immediately after ordering and can be set up in a matter of minutes thanks to the new setup wizards. Users, groups, mailboxes, and folder structures can be easily synchronized from the email service used (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace). A self-service function allows users to access the archive independently.
