Domains are unique to all customers of MailStore Cloud and are used to identify users. The customer can use the default domain provided by MailStore Cloud, register and verify their own domain, or use a domain synchronized from a directory service.

Domains

The Domains page has various features that can be used to create and manage domains. The list view displays domains via their name in ascending or descending order. For domains added by the customer, it also displays a verification code, that can be used to verify the domain. It also displays wether a domain is read-only or verified.

  • Create domain – Opens the Create Domain dialog (see below). The domain needs to be verified in order to use it for users and directory services.
  • Refresh – The refresh icon can be utilized if needed to refresh the page.
  • Search over name and ID:
    • Name is a case insensitive “includes” search.
    • ID is a case insensitive “equals” search.
  • Copy verification code
    • The verification code needs to be added to a DNS server to verify the ownership of a domain. You can read more about the verification process in AdminAccess: Domains – Domain Verification. A domain has to be verified, before users can be associated with it.
  • Actions
    • Verify
      • Once the verification code is added to the DNS server, the domain can be verified by using the according action icon. You can read more about that in AdminAccess: Domains – Domain Verification.
      • This option is only available when the domain is not yet verified.
    • Delete
      • Deletes a domain.
      • This option is only available for manually added domains. The default domain or domains created through a directory service synchronization cannot be deleted.

Create Domain

  • Name – Must be the full name of the domain you want to use.

Note: Before any users can be associated with the domain, it needs to be verified.
