How it Works
|
Basic Functionality
MailStore consists of two components: a MailStore Server and any number of MailStore Clients. The
MailStore Server needs to be installed on the computer that makes the central email archive available.
This can be any Windows PC with enough memory.
MailStore Client is a Windows application and has to be installed on all user-machines that are
to have access to the central archive. With MailStore Client, users are able to view, search
and reuse archived emails, while a user logged on as administrator can also select and, if
necessary, change the settings for MailStore Server.
|
Archiving Emails
With MailStore Client installed, all users can archive their local emails from applications such as Microsoft
Outlook to MailStore Server. This can be done either manually or automatically according to a schedule.
|
Those emails which are not stored locally, but in mailboxes of email servers like Microsoft
Exchange, can be archived centrally for all users by the administrator. This also applies
to accounts with GMX, Google Mail or other such services.
|
|
Accessing Archived Emails
With MailStore, emails are not only stored centrally and securely, they also remain fully
available to all users.
|
Searching
Emails and attachments can be searched with lightning speed, and the advanced
search feature allows for an accurate narrowing of search results.
Folder Structure
When archiving emails, MailStore adopts the folder structure of
the source (e.g. Microsoft Outlook).
|
Viewing Emails
Archived emails can be viewed directly in MailStore; the interface is comprehensible
and uses the same conventions as programs like Microsoft Outlook. Attachments, too,
can be opened by double-clicking on the file.
Restoring Emails
When wanting to reply to or forward an already archived email, it can be restored to
the email application (such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird) with just a mouse click.
